Berryfields' pumpkin field in Meriden opens 17 October, £5 a head. Lantern walks at Castle Bromwich, Packwood's trail, and why there is no town centre parade.

Halloween in Solihull is a farm, two historic gardens and a shopping centre this year, not a town centre party. The biggest single draw is the pumpkin field at Berryfields Farm in Meriden, open from Saturday 17 October. Solihull BID’s Halloween Spooktacular, which ran through the town centre last year, is no longer in its 2026 diary. Halloween itself is Saturday 31 October, the day after the October half term week (26 to 30 October) ends.

The quick answer

  • Pumpkin picking: Halloween At The Barn, Berryfields Farm, Meriden. Open 17 and 18 October, then every day 24 to 31 October, arrival slots 10am to 4pm. £5 a head, family of four £19, pumpkins from about £3 on top.
  • After dark for younger children: Castle Bromwich Hall Gardens’ lantern walks, 28, 29 and 30 October at 5pm, £12 for one child and one adult.
  • Free for National Trust members: Packwood House’s woodland trail, daily 24 October to 1 November, £3.50 a trail.
  • Is there a town centre Halloween event? Not this year, as far as anyone has published. The BID removed its Spooktacular from the 2026 diary in September.

Pumpkin picking: Berryfields, Meriden

Halloween At The Barn is at Berryfields Farm, Berkswell Road, Meriden, CV7 7LB, in the east of the borough near the NEC. The farm grows its own pumpkins, in orange, white, green, novelty and giant varieties, in a five-acre field, with more in an indoor events barn if it rains. There are farm animals to feed, a maze, a Halloween shop and a street food and bar area from 10am.

Dates: Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 October, then daily from Saturday 24 to Saturday 31 October 2026. Tickets carry an arrival slot, every 15 minutes from 10am to 4pm; it is the time to arrive, not a time to leave by. Under-12s must be with someone aged 18 or over. The farm says a limited number of tickets may be sold on arrival if any are left, but it recommends booking, and warns that weekend and half term slots may sell out. Tickets are non-refundable unless the farm cancels. Parking on site is free, and well-behaved dogs on a short lead are allowed. Eco-Skating is a synthetic rink, not ice (The Barn At Berryfields).

Lantern walks and Woodland Wizards: Castle Bromwich Hall Gardens

The walled gardens on Chester Road, B36 9BT, run two Halloween events in half term, both bookable on the gardens’ own pages.

  • Children’s Halloween Lantern Walks, Wednesday 28, Thursday 29 and Friday 30 October, 5pm to 5.45pm. A staff-led trail through the gardens after closing, by lantern, to find the Good Witch and escape. Aimed at children aged 5 to 10; the gardens warn of “the odd jump scare”. £12 covers one child, one adult and the child’s hot chocolate; each extra adult is £5. Arrive from 4.30pm. Costumes welcome, and parents supervise throughout (Castle Bromwich Hall Gardens).
  • Woodland Wizards, Wednesday 28 and Thursday 29 October, 11am to 12pm. Outdoors: nature wands, muddy potions and spooky games. Tickets are listed from £3 to £13 (Castle Bromwich Hall Gardens).

The gardens open Wednesday to Sunday, 10.30am to 4.30pm.

Woodland trail: Packwood House

The National Trust’s Mystical and Magical Woodland Trail runs every day from Saturday 24 October to Sunday 1 November, 9.30am to 4pm. Children search the Welly Walk for “autumn treasures and spooky surprises”, with themed crafts during the week and a prize at the end. The trail is £3.50, and normal admission applies for anyone who is not a member (National Trust, Packwood House). Packwood is on Packwood Lane, B94 6AT, two miles east of Hockley Heath.

Zombie Survival at Touchwood

Touchwood’s half term event is a Minecraft zombie survival game, Monday 26 to Friday 30 October on Jubilee Walk. Sessions last 50 minutes at 10am, 11am, 12pm, 2pm and 3pm, with 12 places each, played on laptops with a keyboard and mouse. It costs £5 per child, ages 7 and over, and is pre-booked only: a sold out session cannot be bought on the day, and there are no refunds. It is run by MineMania and is not an official Minecraft event (Touchwood events).

Just over the boundary: Hatton Adventure World

The biggest Halloween event within a short drive is Hatton Adventure World’s Halloween Spooktacular, near Warwick (Dark Lane, Hatton, CV35 8XA), about 10 miles from junction 5 of the M42. It runs weekends from 3 October, then daily 24 October to 1 November 2026, with a new haunted house, a pick-your-own pumpkin field (one free pumpkin with each paid child ticket for children over 80cm), a Monster Mash disco, magic and comedy shows and the park’s animals. Hatton lists tickets at £21.95 for adults and children, £20.95 for over-66s and £19.95 a head for groups of four or more; full-time members get in free (Hatton Adventure World).

Is there a Halloween event in Solihull town centre?

Not one that anyone has announced. Solihull BID published its 2026 events diary in January with a Spooktacular on Saturday 31 October, the successor to last year’s town centre disco, parade and face painting. When the BID edited the diary on 18 September the Spooktacular had gone, and the version updated on 30 September lists only the Festive Feast market, 15 to 22 December, after the September food festival. The BID has given no reason, and we are not calling it cancelled. If it returns, it goes on this page (Solihull BID, 2026 events).

Also on that week

  • Disney On Ice: Discover the Magic is at bp pulse LIVE, NEC, from 28 October, from £18 plus fees. There is no evening show on Halloween; every time is on our Disney On Ice Birmingham page.
  • Fireworks start the next day. The Solihull Hospital Charity display at Silhillians, Knowle, is on Sunday 1 November, and the Round Table’s Tudor Grange Park display on Saturday 7 November. Both are on our Solihull fireworks page.
  • School dates and The Core’s half term programme are on our October half term page.

Getting there

Berryfields has its own free car park, as does Hatton. Castle Bromwich Hall Gardens is off Chester Road in the north of the borough. Touchwood’s car parks are ticketless, using number plate recognition. The council car parks and their charges are on our parking in Solihull page, and road closures that week are on our roadworks and travel page.

All details were checked on the organisers’ own pages on 4 October 2026. We update this page each week to Halloween.
