Solihull's Festive Feast market is dated 15 to 22 December, times still to come. Birmingham's Frankfurt market opens 5 November; what ran in Knowle last year.

Solihull’s own Christmas market for 2026 has a date and nothing else yet: the Festive Feast, Tuesday 15 to Tuesday 22 December, in the town centre, run by Solihull BID. The biggest market within reach, Birmingham’s Frankfurt Christmas Market, opens on Thursday 5 November and runs to Christmas Eve. The two artisan markets that ran in Solihull and Knowle last December have not announced a 2026 date.

The quick answer

  • Solihull town centre: Festive Feast, 15 to 22 December 2026. Dated in Solihull BID’s 2026 diary; times and stalls not yet published.
  • Birmingham: Frankfurt Christmas Market, 5 November to 24 December 2026, Victoria Square, New Street and High Street. Open from 11am on weekdays and 10am at weekends.
  • Knowle and The Core: both held artisan markets in December 2025. Neither has a 2026 date yet.
  • Is there a Christmas market in Solihull this year? Yes, the Festive Feast, but it is a week-long food market in the run-up to Christmas, not a November-to-December village of chalets.

Solihull Festive Feast, 15 to 22 December

Solihull BID’s whole-year events diary, last edited on 30 September 2026, lists the Solihull Festive Feast from 15 to 22 December. It is the only festive event left in the diary: a Spooktacular, and then the Jingle Bell Jog that was pencilled in for 13 December, have both been taken out since September, without an explanation from the BID (Solihull BID, 2026 events).

What it looked like last year: the 2025 Festive Feast ran from Tuesday 16 to Monday 22 December on the High Street and Mill Lane, with the BID working with the market company RR Events. It was a food market, with hot food from around the world to eat there and cold items to take home, plus mulled wine and mince pies (Visit Solihull, 3 December 2025). Expect the 2026 opening times and stall list late: Visit Solihull’s round-up of last year’s markets did not appear until 3 December. We will add them here when they are published.

Birmingham’s Frankfurt Christmas Market, 5 November to 24 December

Birmingham City Council confirmed the dates on 28 September. The market opens on Thursday 5 November and closes on Thursday 24 December (Birmingham City Council).

Day Opening hours
Monday to Thursday 11am to 9pm
Friday 11am to 9.30pm
Saturday 10am to 9.30pm
Sunday 10am to 9pm
Remembrance Sunday, 8 November Opens at 1pm

Two changes for 2026. Because of public realm works on Bennetts Hill and Temple Street, there are no stalls on the stretch of New Street between the Apple store and Nando’s; the market picks up again beyond Corporation Street, and craft stalls run along High Street. And the Big Wheel and ice rink are back in Centenary Square, daily from 5 November 2026 to 3 January 2027, 10am to 10pm, closed on Christmas Day, booked through iceskatebirmingham.co.uk. The market’s own site is thebfcm.co.uk.

What ran last year in Knowle and at The Core

Both were new in 2025, and both were paid for by the government’s UK Shared Prosperity Fund through the Mayor’s Market Fund, so a repeat depends on that money as much as the organisers (Visit Solihull, 3 December 2025).

  • Solihull Arts Market, The Core Theatre: three weekends, 6 and 7, 13 and 14, and 20 and 21 December 2025, 11am to 5pm, with local makers selling ceramics, fused glass, jewellery, textiles and prints. The Core’s 2026 listings, read on 4 October, carry no market dates yet.
  • NOËL Artisan Market, Station Road, Knowle: the first one was on Saturday 6 December 2025, 11am to 5pm, free to get in (Visit Solihull). Its listing is still dated 2025.

If either is dated for 2026 we will add it here. The Knowle Christmas lights switch-on, held on Thursday 27 November last year, is on our Christmas lights page.

More festive shopping in the borough

  • Festive Good Food Show, NEC, 26 to 29 November, with more than 350 exhibitors as well as the chefs. Ticket prices and the day-by-day line-up are on our Good Food Show NEC page.
  • Packwood House is dressed for Christmas from 28 November: our Packwood House Christmas page has prices and opening days.
  • Where to see Santa, and what it costs, is on our Santa’s grotto page.

Getting there

For the Festive Feast, the council’s town centre car parks and their charges are on our parking in Solihull page, and road closures are on our roadworks and travel page.

Checked on 4 October 2026. We update this page as the BID and the market organisers publish their 2026 detail.
