Packwood House is dressed for Christmas from 28 November to 3 January. Winter entry is £12 an adult; it closes 24 and 25 December but opens on Boxing Day.

Christmas at Packwood House runs from Saturday 28 November 2026 to Sunday 3 January 2027. The National Trust house two miles east of Hockley Heath dresses its Tudor rooms for the season, this year on the theme of Baron Ash’s world tour of 1910 and 1911. It is open every day of the holiday except Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, including Boxing Day, and there is no extra charge: normal admission applies, which drops to the cheaper winter rate from 3 November.

The Trust has not published the price of the breakfast tours or the lunches on its event pages; both are given when you book.

Opening times and closures

From the Trust’s own opening calendar, which is published day by day to 31 December:

  • Grounds, gardens, café and shop: 9am to 4pm every open day from 2 November.
  • House: 11am to 3pm until 27 November, then 11am to 4pm from 28 November for Christmas.
  • Closed completely on Monday 16 November, Thursday 24 December and Friday 25 December.
  • House closed on Thursday 26 November for the Christmas set-up; the gardens and café stay open. The house also closes on Tuesday 5 January for the take-down.

The Trust notes that house opening depends on volunteers. On days with few volunteers the house may only be open by guided tour. The Yew Garden opens at noon and is seen by guided tour in the winter months. The calendar has no hours yet for January 2027.

Before Christmas: half term

The house runs a Mystical and Magical Woodland Trail on the Welly Walk every day from Saturday 24 October to Sunday 1 November, 9.30am to 4pm, with crafts and a prize for finishing. Getting there

Packwood House is on Packwood Lane, Lapworth, B94 6AT, just across the boundary in Warwickshire and two miles east of Hockley Heath on the A3400. Parking is free, about 100 yards from the house. The Trust points to trains to Lapworth and Dorridge, and to direct buses to Hockley Heath from Solihull (about 25 minutes) and Dorridge (about five).
