Remembrance Sunday is 8 November 2026. Last year nine Solihull parades closed roads from 10am, from Knowle to Castle Bromwich. The 2026 list is due in October.
Remembrance Sunday is Sunday 8 November 2026, and Armistice Day falls three days later on Wednesday 11 November. Solihull does not hold one borough parade: last year there were nine, each with its own road closure, from Castle Bromwich in the north to Hockley Heath in the south. The council has not yet published the 2026 closures. Last year’s notice was dated 24 October, so expect this year’s in the second half of October.
The quick answer

- Solihull town centre: the service is held at the war memorial outside St Alphege Church, followed by a service inside the church. Everyone is welcome.

Solihull Council’s temporary road closure notice for 9 November 2025 lists every parade the council closed roads for. These are last year’s times, the best guide until the 2026 notice appears (Solihull Council, TR254 notice, 24 October 2025).

Emergency services keep access through every closure, and pedestrians can pass along marked routes. The closure times cover the parade and the service, so the act of remembrance itself falls inside each window; the council’s notice does not give service start times.
Hockley Heath runs later than everywhere else, from noon, and Knowle’s closure is the longest, three and a half hours on the A4141. If you are driving through Knowle or along the Stratford Road in Shirley on Sunday morning, plan round them.
Solihull town centre
St Alphege parish says that on Remembrance Sunday it holds a Service of Remembrance at the war memorial outside St Alphege Church, followed by a service inside the church, and that all members of the public are welcome (Solihull Parish, special services). The parish has not yet posted a 2026 start time.
Last year the Mayor of Solihull joined the Remembrance events around the borough, including the launch of the Poppy Appeal with Shirley Royal British Legion and the dedication of the cenotaph in Knowle. The council also ran a Remembrance Card display at The Core Library from 5 November, open to anyone wanting to honour a relative who served; cards were available at The Core or by emailing heritage@solihull.gov.uk (Solihull Council, 4 November 2025). Whether the display returns this year has not been announced.
Also that weekend
The Core’s ENCORE venue is holding a Remembrance Sunday Cream Tea with the Boogaloo Babes on Sunday 8 November (The Core). Disney On Ice is also at bp pulse LIVE at the NEC that weekend, so expect busier roads around the airport and the A45.
