A man has died in Shustoke Road in Solihull and two people have been arrested.
West Midlands Police says it was called to disorder in the road at just before 9.25pm on Saturday 19 September. A man in his 40s was found in the street with serious injuries. He was confirmed dead at the scene.

What the force has said
In its own words, West Midlands Police has confirmed:
- officers were called to disorder in Shustoke Road at just before 9.25pm on 19 September
- a man in his 40s was found in the street with serious injuries and was confirmed dead at the scene
- a 38-year-old man has been detained on suspicion of murder
- a 35-year-old woman has been detained for assisting an offender
- both are in custody for questioning
- a police presence remains in the area while the force investigates the full circumstances
The force added: “Our thoughts are with his loved ones and we’ll be offering our support to them at this devastating time.”
Nobody has been charged. An arrest is not a charge and not a conviction, and both people held remain entitled to the presumption of innocence.
What has not been said
The force has not released the name or age of the man who died, and has not said how he was injured. It has not said where in Shustoke Road he was found, and has not published any road closure.

Where Shustoke Road is
Shustoke Road is a residential street in Elmdon Heath, about half a mile north east of Mell Square in Solihull town centre. It runs between Broomfields Avenue and Broomfields Farm Road, a short walk from the A41 Solihull bypass. It is in the B91 postcode and in the Silhill ward of Solihull Council (ONS postcode data via postcodes.io).

What the crime record shows
Home Office street-level data for that neighbourhood runs to July 2026, the most recent month published. Over the 12 months to July, police recorded 2,956 crimes there, of which 1,185 were classed as violence and sexual offences. That works out at about 99 a month.
